Leonel Martinez was convicted by a jury of assault with intent to commit a forcible sex act on a 14 year old and sexual battery by restraint.
Martinez was at the 14-year-old victim’s house when he sexually assaulted her. When the victim began screaming, her sister ran into the room and confronted Martinez. She then locked Martinez out of the house. Martinez fled the scene. The victim’s family members contacted law enforcement and reported the sexual assault.
Martinez faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Sentencing is set for October 22, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 25 before the Honorable Donald Currier.
