Students are invited to job shadow professionals from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Crime Lab and meet criminalists who are experts in the various fields of forensic science. This year, the program is being offered with a morning and an afternoon session, IN PERSON.

· Learn the importance of evidence preservation and chain of custody

· Observe bullet trajectory and presumptive blood testing

· Review crime scene investigations (CSI) and see a real drug chemistry display

· Experience how TRACE cases are examined

Registration is open to current Sacramento County high school students. Students who will be attending high school in Fall 2026 are eligible. Priority will be given to senior high school students.

Space is limited and on a first come, first served basis. Please register early.

MORNING & AFTERNOON SESSIONS OFFERED

Registration is 30 minutes prior to class start times.

*MORNING: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (lunch will be provided, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

*AFTERNOON: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (lunch will be provided, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
