Students are invited to job shadow professionals from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Crime Lab and meet criminalists who are experts in the various fields of forensic science.  This year, the program is being offered with a morning and an afternoon session, IN PERSON.

·        Learn the importance of evidence preservation and chain of custody

·        Observe bullet trajectory and presumptive blood testing

·        Review crime scene investigations (CSI) and see a real drug chemistry display

·        Experience how TRACE cases are examined

Registration is open to current Sacramento County high school students. Age minimum is 9th grade for the incoming 2024-2025 school year. Priority will be given to senior high school students.

Space is limited to 40 students each session (80 students total) and on a first come, first served basis.  Please register early.

*MORNING SESSION: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (lunch will be provided, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

*AFTERNOON SESSION: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (lunch will be provided, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
