The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Crime Lab is one of the few in California that is managed by the District Attorney’s Office. The lab has the highest quality service available for the recognition, collection, preservation, scientific analysis, and interpretation of physical evidence, with a goal towards presentation of such evidence in criminal court cases. The lab has achieved the honor of being accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

The laboratory provides forensic services to all law enforcement agencies operating in Sacramento County.

Laboratory Facility

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Laboratory of Forensic Services is a highly specialized scientific laboratory offering analytical services to the criminal justice community in Sacramento County.

Established in 1969, the lab currently resides in a 48,000 square foot state of the art facility it shares with the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Accreditations

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Laboratory of Forensic Services first received accreditation in 2000 under The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors- Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD-LAB), and has maintained its accreditation.

The laboratory is accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards.
