CASE: Kenny Chacon (Case #23FE003445)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Ryan Roebuck, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution
On April 3, 2026, the Honorable Allison Williams sentenced Kenny Chacon to 45 years to life in prison. On September 17, 2025, Chacon was convicted by a jury of forcible rape, sodomy by force, and forcible oral copulation. The jury also found true the allegation and aggravating factor that Chacon used a deadly weapon on all counts.
On October 12, 2022, the victim was engaged in commercial sex work. Kenny Chacon approached her in his truck and engaged the victim for the purpose of paying for sex. The victim agreed, got into Chacon’s truck and the two drove away and parked. Chacon then placed a knife to the victim’s throat as he sexually assaulted her for hours, including raping and sodomizing her. When Chacon was done with her, he dropped her off where he found her. The victim was able to obtain a partial license plate number and reported the assault to law enforcement. Deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the call and assisted in the subsequent investigation. Deputies were able to locate Chacon’s truck driving a few miles away from the scene of the crime within hours of the incident. A felony stop was conducted, and deputies observed a knife inside the truck. The truck was subsequently impounded under a search warrant and three knives were found. Detectives later interviewed Chacon, who repeatedly changed his story about picking up the victim. The victim underwent a sexual assault examination, where DNA samples were taken and matched a reference DNA sample from Chacon. In addition, one of the three knives found in Chacon’s truck was determined to have DNA from Chacon and the victim.
Under current California law, Chacon (age 48) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he turns 50 years old and has served 20 years of his 45 years to life prison sentence. With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 17 years. Additional material on Elder Parole can be found here:
