On March 23, 2026, Bobbie Owen was convicted by a jury of 22 counts of child sexual assault, including lewd acts on a child, oral copulation and digital penetration with a foreign object.
The victim was 11 years old when Owen began molesting her on a regular basis, including digital penetrating and use of a sex toy. The abuse continued for years and escalated to oral copulation of Owen and attempted sexual intercourse with the victim when she was 15 years old. The victim reported the abuse when she was 32 years old.
Owen faces a maximum sentence of 39 years and 4 months in prison. Sentencing is set for May 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 11 before the Honorable Deborah Lobre.
