When the victim was approximately 13 years old, he began to forcibly rape her on a regular basis. The victim tried to fight Chand off, but he overpowered her. Chand threatened to hurt her and a member of her family if she did not comply. Chand also forced her to orally copulate him and used different sex toys on her.
Chand faces a maximum sentence of 118 years in state prison. Sentencing is set for October 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Department 20 before the Honorable Michael Sweet.
Under current California law, Chand (age 68) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he only serves 20 years of his 118 years prison sentence. With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 17 ½ years.
