DATE: August 19, 2025
CASE: Derrold Barry (Case #24FE018483)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Kelly Clark, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution
On August 15, 2025, the Honorable Laurel White sentenced Derrold Barry to 26 years in prison. On April 10, 2025, a jury convicted Barry of forcible rape, four counts of lewd act upon a child, forcible oral copulation and two counts of violating a court order.
Over a two-and-a-half-month period, Barry sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl. The victim did not tell her family about the abuse, but she did disclose to a stranger she reached to on social media. The victim’s mother eventually found out about the abuse and immediately reported it to police and got a protective order for Barry to stay away from the victim. Barry violated the protective order on numerous occasions.
