Defendant Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting Multiple Child Victims
DATE: October 21, 2024
CASE: Jerry Egy (Case #22FE009904)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Dinah Mielke, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit
On October 18, 2024, the Honorable David Bonilla sentenced Jerry Egy to 71 years to life in prison. On September 20, 2024, Egy pled no contest to three counts of forcible lewd act upon a child, two counts of lewd act upon a child and forcible oral copulation. Egy also admitted to allegations that there were multiple victims.
Egy sexually assaulted five victims. Two victims were between the ages of 8 and 11. Egy sexually assaulted one of the child victims on multiple occasions over several years and told her not to tell anyone. The assault against the second child victim included holding her down and forcing her to watch pornographic videos. While in his 40s, Egy abused a teenage girl by giving her methamphetamine and forcing her to orally copulate him. When Egy was approximately 19-20 years old, he engaged in an act of oral copulation with two 13-year-old children.
Under current California law, Egy (age 47) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he reaches the age of 50 and only serves 20 years of his 71 years to life sentence. With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 18 years.
