24th Annual Outstanding Citizen Awards Ceremony

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is April 23-29, 2023.  This year’s theme, “Survivor Voices: Elevate. Engage. Effect Change.,” calls upon communities to amplify the voices of survivors and create environments where survivors have the confidence that they will be heard, believed and supported.

NCVRW is a time for communities across the country to bring attention to the devastating impact crime has on its victims.  It is also a time to show appreciation for the brave victims and witnesses who face fear, shame, guilt and personal challenges to ensure justice is served.

As part of victims’ rights week, District Attorney Thien Ho will honor local victims and witnesses with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Outstanding Citizen Award. This award recognizes victims and witnesses who have demonstrated extraordinary acts of bravery and selflessness by participating in the criminal justice process and contributing to the safety of our community.

In addition, individuals who contributed to public safety through outstanding service as a victim advocate, volunteer or community leader will be honored with a Beacon of Hope Award.

DA Thien Ho will be joined by deputy district attorneys, victim advocates and investigators in honoring this year’s awardees at a special ceremony.

When:    Friday, April 28, 2023, 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Where:  Sacramento County Board of Supervisors’ Chambers – 700 H Street, Sacramento
