John Tambini was convicted by a jury of six counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 and five counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 with force or fear. A jury also found true allegations that the victims were particularly vulnerable; the crime involved planning and sophistication; Tambini took advantage of a position of trust or confidence; and that the crime involved threat of great bodily harm or acts disclosing a high degree of cruelty.

Tambini sexually abused three victims between 2010 and 2012 when they were between 3 and 7 years old. In 2021, one of the victims disclosed the abuse when she was 16 years old. Soon after, the victim’s family discovered Tambini abused two other children when they were very young. Those victims were 15 years old and 14 years old when they disclosed the abuse.

Tambini faces a maximum sentence of 68 years state prison.  Sentencing is set for April 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 40 before the Honorable Steve White.
