PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Matthew Moore, Gangs & Hate Crimes Unit

Jordan Ford was convicted by a jury of premeditated attempted murder with a firearm causing great bodily injury.

On February 29, 2016, the victim and one of Ford’s friends agreed to a physical fight.  During the fight, Ford grabbed a firearm and began shooting the victim.  The victim ran and Ford shot the victim in the back, paralyzing him from the waist down.  Ford then went over to the victim paralyzed on the ground and attempted to execute him by shooting him in the head.  The victim was able to avoid getting shot in the head and Ford ran out of bullets.  Ford then told one of his friends to kill the victim.  That friend fired a single shot, but did not strike the victim.  Ford and his friends then fled leaving the victim paralyzed in the street.
