CASE:  Ivory Spratt, Zamir Alshabazz, Kymon Anderson (Case #19FE006377)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Gregory Hayes, Career Criminal Prosecution Unit

Ivory Spratt, Zamir Alshabazz and Kymon Anderson were convicted by a jury of first-degree robbery with the allegation of acting in concert, and first-degree burglary with the allegation the victim was home at the time of the offense. Alshabazz and Spratt were also convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. The jury found true additional allegations that Spratt used a knife and personally inflicted great bodily injury.

Anderson and Alshabazz planned a home invasion of an Elk Grove home. Their plan included the use of weapons and a third person to help them. On April 9, 2019, Anderson, Alshabazz, and Spratt were seen on video walking by the targeted home. The defendants then jumped the back fence of the home and broke into a side door. The homeowner was home and ran to the neighbor’s house in fear. The neighbor went inside the homeowner’s house and encountered Alshabazz, who rushed at the neighbor and began fighting him. Spratt then joined the fight.  The neighbor was ultimately stabbed and the defendants fled the home.  Police responded to the house and arrested all three defendants.

Spratt faces a maximum sentence of 27 years in prison and Alshabazz and Anderson each face a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison. Alshabazz is set to be scheduled on July 30, 2021, Anderson on August 13, 2021 and Spratt on November 19, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in Department 15 before the Honorable Kevin McCormick.
