Defendant Convicted of 16 Counts of Child Sexual Assault Against 2 Children

Miguel Torresvera was convicted by a jury of thirteen counts of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child, two counts of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child using force, and one count of aggravated sexual assault on a child.  The jury also found true substantial sexual conduct and multiple victims allegations.

On July 1, 2019, a victim disclosed that Torresvera sexually assaulted her when she was between the ages of 6 and 10 years old.  The assaults occurred approximately 30 times over the course of several years.  Torresvera sexually assaulted another victim when she was between the ages of 4 and 8 years old.  Torresvera used physical violence and verbal threats to get her to comply with his demands. Those assaults also occurred approximately 30 times over the course of several years.

Torresvera faces a maximum sentence of 59 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for June 25, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 10 before the Honorable Ernest Sawtelle.
