CASE: Jerritt Tolson (Case #18FE018819)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Courtney Martin, Human Trafficking Unit

The Honorable Patrick Marlette sentenced Jerritt Tolson to 14 years in prison after Tolson pled to human trafficking of an adult using force and making a criminal threat. Tolson will also have to register as a sex offender for life.

On September 26, 2018, the Rancho Cordova Police Department and Roseville Police Department were notified that the 18-year-old victim asked a friend to send help because she was being trafficked. The victim told her friend that she was at the Courtyard Marriott in Rancho Cordova. Law enforcement was able to contact the victim and arrested Tolson at the scene. The victim reported that she had spent several months with Tolson. She made money by having sex with men and then had to give her money to Tolson, who physically assaulted her and threatened to hurt her or her family if she left him. Detectives located digital evidence on the victim’s and Tolson’s phones that corroborated the victim’s statements.
