The Honorable Patrick Marlette sentenced David Enriquez to 17 years in prison after Enriquez pled to felony transportation of methamphetamine for the purpose of sales with admission to a weight enhancement in excess of 20 kilograms.  Enriquez also pled to child endangerment.

On February 20, 2020, California Highway Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop of David Enriquez’s vehicle. Enriquez and his juvenile passenger fled on foot. Enriquez was apprehended and officers conducted a K-9 search of his vehicle, which revealed multiple packages of methamphetamine. A further search uncovered a hole drilled into the tailgate, which was used to conceal additional packages of methamphetamine. In total, Enriquez was in possession of 53.72 pounds of methamphetamine.
