Defendant Sentenced to 18+ Years in Prison for Human Trafficking & Pimping

DATE:  September 8, 2020

CASE: Lejon Nunnelly (Case #19FE022366)

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Courtney Martin, Human Trafficking Unit

The Honorable Ernest Sawtelle sentenced Lejon Nunnelly to 18 years and 8 months in prison.  On August 4, 2020, Nunnelly pled no contest to human trafficking and pimping.

Between 2017 and 2019, Nunnelly used coercion, threats, and violence to force two victims to work in prostitution and then give him the money they made through prostitution. When the victims tried to leave Nunnelly at various times, he would track them down and engage in violent assaults, sexual abuse, and verbal and written threats to get them to continue to work for him. During the investigation, social media messages and videos were located in which Nunnelly discussed his activities as a pimp, filmed his abuse of the victims, and made direct threats to the victims.
