CASE:  Dayshawn Jackson (Case #18FE007348)

Dayshawn Jackson was convicted by a jury of the second-degree murder of Larry Ragsdale Jr., shooting from a car at a person, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  The jury also found that Jackson personally used and discharged a firearm causing death during the commission of the murder and firing from the car.

A few minutes past midnight on August 27, 2017, Dayshawn Jackson was inside the car he was driving when he fired a gun multiple times at people outside of a party that was taking place. The victim was struck in the torso and killed as he stood in front of the party talking with friends.

The court found that Jackson had previously been convicted of a strike, first-degree residential burglary.  Jackson faces a maximum sentence of 55 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for December 13, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 24 before the Honorable Shelleyanne Chang.
