CASE: Chandler Ashford-Deshazo (Case #17FE011458)

Chandler Ashford-Deshazo was convicted by a jury of six counts of committing a sex act with a child under 10 years of age and six counts of committing a lewd act upon a child.

In 2016, Ashford-Deshazo began sexually assaulting two female family members, who were both 7 years old at the time. Neither of the victims told their parents or each other about the abuse.  On April 7, 2017, a family member caught Ashford-Deshazo during one of the sexual assaults.  Ashford-Deshazo fled the house and was later arrested that night for being drunk in public.  He was released on that charge the next day and immediately fled to San Diego, where he was apprehended two months later.

Ashford-Deshazo faces a maximum sentence of 90 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for May 11, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 36 before the Honorable Stephen Acquisto.
