REAL ESTATE FRAUD
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office
serves as a central reporting agency for real estate fraud in the city and
county of Sacramento. The office works in conjunction with the Sacramento
County Sheriff’s Department and the Sacramento Police Department in
investigating reported fraudulent real estate transactions. All three
agencies have highly trained personnel to assist you with any questions or
concerns you may have about your property and real estate fraud.
In order to investigate your complaint properly, we will need the names,
addresses and phone numbers of all persons involved in the suspected fraud
(i.e. reporting party/victim, suspect(s). Secondly, we will need a summary
of facts, including but not limited to the following:
Ø
A chronology of the events that took place.
Ø
What you were told and by whom.
Ø
What you were told that you later learned was false.
Ø
If you have reported this suspected fraud to any other
agencies for investigation, please include the name, address and telephone
number of the agency and person contacted.
It is imperative that you be as specific as possible
with all the information requested. Once we have received and reviewed your
complaint of suspected fraud, you will be contacted by one of the agencies
mentioned above to discuss the issues at hand. At that time, you may be
required to supply copies of all documents you have in support of your
complaint.
