District Attorney Jan Scully announced today that the Honorable Judge Greta
Fall sentenced Jerome Jackson Denny, Jr. to 30 years – Life after a jury
found him guilty of violating one count of PC 288 (a), Lewd Act On A Child
Under 14 Years and also guilty of violating one count of PC 288 (b), Lewd
Act On A Child Under 14 Years With Force. The jury also found Mr. Denny had
committed these acts on multiple victims.
The 55 year old Sacramento man was found guilty of molesting two young
sisters who lived in the same apartment complex as he did. He was friendly
with their mother and would often watch the girls. One victim testified that
Mr. Denny rubbed her vagina over her underwear while he was in the girls’
apartment. The other victim testified that Mr. Denny, would, on numerous
occasions, grab her hand and force her to rub his penis on the outside of
his clothing. Testimony was also heard by the jury from a prior victim of
molest. In the late 1980’s Mr. Denny sexually molested his then teenage
sister- in-law.
Deputy District Attorney Nancy Cochrane stated, “Mr. Denny has had far too
much opportunity to victimize young girls. With his sentence today, the
community can be assured that no other young girl will ever again be a
victim at his hands.”
