North Sacramento School District Office
670 Dixieanne Avenue, Sacramento
The vast majority of Californians place a high priority on education.
Significant portions of our tax dollars go to support our children and our
schools. Most parents willingly assume the responsibility for assuring that
their children attend school regularly and get the education they need to
become productive adults. Parents who actively shirk this responsibility,
despite tremendous support from the schools and the School Attendance Review
Board, are now named in arrest warrants for Contributing to the Delinquency
of Minors who are habitually truant students.
Please join Sacramento District Attorney Jan Scully, as well as other agency
officials, for a press conference preceding the 2005 Truancy Sweep. School
District representatives will also be available for questions and comments.
This year we have over 90 warrants to serve on these parents who fail to
send their children to school.
Media is invited to participate with the teams in visiting the homes where
warrants will be served.
