Brian Hintz Prosecutor
of the Year Award
Dundell Wright Prosecutor Honored
District Attorney Jan Scully announced
today that this year's prestigious Brian Hintz Prosecutor of the Year
Award was given to Michael Savage.
Each year the attorneys of the Sacramento County
DA's Office recognize one of their own to receive the Brian Hintz Prosecutor
of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to a prosecutor
who has performed his or her duties with outstanding job performance,
enthusiasm, teamwork and integrity.
Mike is a fifteen-year veteran prosecutor of
the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office. He has spent the bulk
of his career in some of the most intense units in the office, taking
on child molesters, rapists and killers. Mike has had too many successes
to detail, but two recent cases are good examples of what he does and
how he does it. Mike handled People v. Dennis Tison, a complex child
homicide where the accused happened to be a prominent physician as well
as the victim's father. Most recently, Mike successfully prosecuted
Dundell Wright for the murder of Sacramento Police Officer Bill Bean.
Jan Scully described Mike Savage as, "the
consummate prosecutor." "He is sincere, compassionate and
intense. Mike dedicates himself fully to each and every case he handles,
and to the continued pursuit of justice."
