Brian Hintz Prosecutor of the Year Award

Contact: Lana Wyant, Special Assistant Deputy District Attorney, (916) 874-5907

District Attorney Jan Scully announced today that this year’s prestigious Brian Hintz Prosecutor of the Year Award was given to Marjorie Koller Durenberger.

Each year the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office recognizes one of their own to receive the Brian Hintz Prosecutor of the Year Award.  This award is presented annually to a prosecutor who has performed his or her duties with the same qualities exhibited by Brian Hintz as a deputy district attorney:  Outstanding job performance, enthusiasm, team work and integrity.

Marje is a graduate of Lincoln Law School and she is a fourteen-year veteran prosecutor of the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.  The bulk of her career has been devoted to prosecuting violent offenders.  She has worked in the sexual assault, domestic violence, career criminal and homicide units where she has daily labored to give victims of violent crime a voice in the criminal justice system.

Jan Scully described Marjorie Koller Durenberger as, “a passionate and dedicated prosecutor who tirelessly fights to make our community a safer place to live.”

The meeting facilities are accessible to persons with disabilities. Requests for interpreting services, assistive listening devices or other considerations should be made through the District Attorney's Office, Kathy Hagyard (ADA Coordinator), at 874-8530, or through the County Disability Compliance Office at (916) 874-7642 or 874-7646 (TTY).
