District Attorney Jan Scully releases report of
Gun Violence Reduction Task Force

Violence and the threat of violence strike at the core of all we hold
dear in our community. In response to the escalating concern about gun
violence in our communities, District Attorney Jan Scully established
the multidisciplinary Gun Violence Reduction Task Force in 1998 as a
part of her Focus on Youth. She asked the Probation Department and the
Department of Health and Human Services to serve as co-chairs of this
important committee which met for over two years to assess the scope
of the problem in Sacramento, survey resources available, and make recommendations
for future efforts to reduce juvenile gun violence.
The report of the findings and recommendations of the Gun Violence
Reduction Task Force is to be presented to the Sacramento County Board
of Supervisors on:
