Press release: Statement from DA Jan Scully re: September 11, 2001

District Attorney Jan Scully announced today, “Tuesday’s tragic events have had a profound impact on everyone and will continue to affect us for some time. Like all Americans, it is my fervent hope that all of those responsible are identified and held accountable. But as we deal with our emotions, it would be very wrong for anyone to direct his/her anger at Arab-Americans, Muslims, or their places of worship, business, or residence. I want to make one thing very clear -- criminal acts committed against these individuals or their property because of their ethnicity, religion, or national origin will prosecuted by my office to the fullest extent of the law.”
