PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Thien Ho, Homicide Unit
Jeremy Pridmore-Ybarra was convicted by a jury of the first-degree murder of Breeze Hubbard and the second-degree murder of John Colbert. The jury also found true the special circumstance that Pridmore-Ybarra committed multiple murders and a gun use allegation. Pridmore-Ybarra was also convicted of multiple weapon charges, including possession of assault rifles and a silencer.
On December 12, 2014, Jeremy Pridmore-Ybarra went to John Colbert and Breeze Hubbard’s residence in Carmichael. Pridmore-Ybarra was angry at Mr. Colbert and confronted him for allegedly disrespecting him. During their argument, Pridmore-Ybarra pulled out a Glock .40 caliber handgun and shot Mr. Colbert twice in the head. He then shot Mr. Colbert’s girlfriend, Breeze Hubbard, in the chest and head because she was a witness to the murder.
Pridmore-Ybarra faces a maximum potential sentence of 90 years to life in prison plus life without the possibility of parole. Sentencing is set for October 28, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 21 before the Honorable Steve White.
