Twenty-two-year-old Robert Derek Hill was convicted by jury of 15 counts of sexual assault charges, including multiple counts of forcible rape, sodomy, and forcible oral copulation. The jury also convicted Hill of assault with a deadly weapon or instrument and found a multiple victim enhancement true in 15 of the 16 counts.
On April 17, 2013, Hill contacted a 25-year-old woman, drove her to an isolated location, and told her he had a knife and would use it to kill her if she did not do as she was told. After placing her in fear for her life, he repeatedly committed violent sexual acts upon her. On May 29, 2013, Hill threatened and violently attacked a 19-year-old woman in her home and repeatedly sexually assaulted her. On January 25, 2014, Hill dragged a 24-year-old woman into a vacant house and threatened to kill her with a knife. When she began to scream and cry, he forcibly and violently sexually assaulted her. On July 10, 2014, Hill contacted a 22-year-old woman, physically assaulted her, and committed multiple violent sexual assaults upon her by knifepoint. When she resisted, he used the knife to cut her neck and hand before forcing her to submit to further forced sexual acts.
Hill faces a maximum potential sentence of 12 years, plus 220 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for June 3, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 26 before the Honorable Laurel White.
