The Honorable Delbert Oros sentenced Salvador Martinez to 40 years to life in prison. On December 3, 2015, a jury convicted Martinez of murder. The jury also found true the allegation that Martinez personally used a firearm causing death. James Wallace was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 4 years in prison on January 8, 2016. Tana Dania was acquitted of all charges.
Close to midnight on July 12, 2014, Tyrell Hall went to the Hookah Lounge on Fulton Avenue with several friends, including Martinez. Outside the lounge, a verbal dispute escalated into a fistfight and then a gunfight among several people, including Martinez, Dania, and Wallace. Martinez was one of the shooters, setting off the gunfight. Mr. Hall was hit by gunfire, killing him.
