CASE: Kevin Andre Brown
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Quirina Orozco, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit
The Honorable Shelleyanne Chang sentenced Kevin Andre Brown to 66 years to life in prison. On November 23, 2015, a jury convicted Brown of three counts of forcible sodomy, one count of forcible rape, false imprisonment, sexual battery, robbery, and vehicle theft.
The 55-year-old female victim shared a home with her daughter and son-in-law, Kevin Andre Brown. On January 11, 2013, Brown brutally physically assaulted her, strangled her until she lost consciousness, and used phone cords and duct tape to bind her hands and feet. Brown then took her ATM card and used her vehicle to go to her bank and withdraw money.
When he returned to the house, he sexually assaulted the victim for a period for six to seven hours while intermittently smoking crack cocaine. He then fled in the victim’s car and was later taken into custody in Los Angeles.
