Harold Fulkerson was convicted by a jury for the second-degree murder of Teresa Anderson. The jury also found true that Fulkerson used a deadly weapon and committed the crime while out on bail for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger.
On January 27, 2015, Fulkerson was visiting a friend at the Ashgrove Place Apartments in Rancho Cordova. Fulkerson followed the victim, Teresa Anderson, into her bedroom and stabbed her 17 times. The other occupants of the apartment called authorities, who apprehended Fulkerson at the scene and retrieved the murder weapon. Fulkerson claimed that his use of marijuana and methamphetamine caused him to suffer hallucinations. The victim and Fulkerson were acquaintances with no prior history of conflict.
Fulkerson faces a maximum sentence of 18 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for February 2, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 33 before the Honorable Michael Savage.
