CASE: Keandrey Brown (Case #16FE004814)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Patrick Foster, Domestic Violence Unit
The Honorable Raoul Thorbourne sentenced Keandrey Brown to 31 years to life in prison. On October 14, 2016, a jury convicted Brown of robbery with use of a firearm and elder abuse causing great bodily injury.
On March 5, 2016, the elderly victim was at a shopping center on Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road. Keandrey Brown watched the victim walk to the parking lot towards her vehicle. He then violently attempted to steal the victim’s purse, which was around her neck. When Brown was unable to get the purse off the victim’s neck, he shot her twice. The victim was transported to UC Davis and underwent immediate emergency surgery to save her life. A complex set of injuries, including a perforated bowel and small intestine, required hours of surgery on two separate days. A bullet fragment remains inside her body to this day.
