The public is invited to attend the swearing-in of Anne Marie Schubert as the new District Attorney of Sacramento County. A special ceremony being held on:
January 8, 2015 ~ 4:00 p.m.
Board of Supervisors’ Chambers ~ 700 H Street, Sacramento
The Honorable Laurie Earl will administer the oath of office after brief comments from guest speakers. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
Anne Marie was elected District Attorney in June 2014 with the support of former District Attorney Jan Scully, Sheriff Scott Jones, and a number of law enforcement associations and crime victims’ organizations.
As a career prosecutor for over 25 years, Anne Marie spent the majority of her career prosecuting Sacramento’s most violent individuals, including child abusers, sex offenders and murderers. Recognized as a national forensic DNA expert, she is known for her pursuit of justice through forensic DNA evidence and cold case prosecutions.
She has also created innovative prevention and community outreach programs for the District Attorney's Office. Among her many accolades, Anne Marie was recognized by her peers with the distinguished District Attorney Office’s Prosecutor of the Year Award.
“It is an honor to serve as District Attorney of Sacramento County, the community where I was raised and am now raising my own children,” Schubert said. “I am committed to standing up for victims and protecting our citizens through prosecution and prevention programs so families can feel safe in their homes, schools and neighborhoods.”
