PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Tim Carr, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced that the Honorable Shellyanne Chang sentenced Demarea Brown to 75 years to life in prison. On July 18, 2014, a jury convicted Brown of two counts of rape, one count of forced oral copulation and one count of kidnapping.
In November 2012, Brown encountered the adult victim on the grounds of a middle school after dark and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. He then forced the victim go to a secluded location on the school grounds, away from security cameras, and sexually assaulted her.
