CASE: Vernon Williams
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Frederick Gotha, Domestic Violence Unit
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced that Vernon Williams was convicted by jury
of domestic violence and battery causing serious bodily injury. The jury also found true
allegations that the victim suffered great bodily injury as a result of the attack.
On January 13, 2014, Williams assaulted the victim during an argument and punched her in the
face. The force of the blow shattered the victim’s orbital bone.
Williams has prior convictions for domestic violence, threatening a witness, stalking, and drug
dealing. He faces a maximum potential sentence of 21 years in prison. Sentencing is set for
April 24, 2015 in Department 28 before the Honorable James E. McFetridge.
