CASE: Igor Ponomarenko
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Nancy Cochrane, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced today that Igor Ponomarenko was convicted by jury of eight counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under the age of 14. The jury also found true a special allegation that the conduct involved more than two victims.
Over a period of four years, Ponomarenko molested seven children, all of whom are family members.
Ponomarenko faces a maximum potential sentence of 120 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for March 20, 2015 in Department 39 before the Honorable David Abbott.
