PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Amber Hawk, Career Criminal Prosecution Unit
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced today that Shaquille Jerrell Williams was convicted by jury of robbery. The jury also found true that Williams committed the robbery for the benefit of, and in association with, the Stick Up Starz criminal street gang.
On September 19, 2012, Williams and his cousin Harold Dossman, who is also a known Stick Up Starz gang member, severely beat the victim and robbed him of his cell phone, car keys, money and cigarettes. During the assault, the three men yelled out “Starz Up!” and “Gunz Down!” to promote their gang.
Williams faces a maximum potential sentence of 15 years in state prison. Sentencing is set for April 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Department 10 before the Honorable Greta Curtis Fall.
Dossman has a prior 2011 robbery conviction, which is a prior strike under California’s Three Strikes Law. He previously entered a plea of no contest to robbery and faces a sentence of 10 years in state prison. His sentencing is set for April 10, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in Department 10 before the Honorable Greta Curtis Fall.
