Doctor Convicted for Sexually Assaulting Patient

DATE:  September 21, 2017

CASE:  Logan Vincent Ford (Case #15F04758)

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Matt Chisholm, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit

Logan Vincent Ford was convicted by a jury of forcible rape, forcible digital penetration, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a patient.

In March 2015, the 53-year-old victim went to the 420MD clinic to get a prescription for medical marijuana to treat pain from various health conditions.  Dr. Ford committed a forcible sexual assault on the victim during the exam.  The victim reported the assault later that same day and participated in an evidentiary exam at a hospital.  Unknown male DNA was recovered during the exam. Testing by the District Attorney’s Crime Lab determined the DNA was a match to Ford.  Ford is also facing charges in Alameda County for allegedly committing a sexual battery against a different patient during an exam at a Berkeley 420MD clinic.

Ford faces a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison in the Sacramento County case.  Sentencing is set for November 17, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 23 before the Honorable Geoffrey Goodman.
