Defendant Convicted for Murder, Felony Evasion

Trevon Brown was convicted by a jury for the second-degree murder of Linda Hull.  Brown was also convicted of felony evasion causing great bodily injury.

On April 26, 2015, officers attempted to arrest Trevon Brown for an active felony warrant.  Brown fled on foot to a minivan parked nearby and drove off at a high rate of speed on Eleanor Avenue.  Officers pursued Brown, who exceeded speeds of 60 mph while running red lights and stop signs in a residential neighborhood.  At the intersection of Helena Avenue and Del Paso Boulevard, Brown ran a stop sign at 50-60 mph and crashed into a pick-up truck and a pedestrian.  The pedestrian, Linda Hull, was killed at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was ejected from his vehicle and suffered severe injuries.  

Brown faces a maximum sentence of 18 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for September 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in Department 23 before the Honorable Geoffrey Goodman.
