Defendant Convicted for Sexually Assaulting Two Family Members

CASE:  Robert Dew (Case #17FE000718)

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Monica Robinson, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit

Robert Dew was convicted by a jury of eight counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14.  The jury also found true a multiple victims allegation.

In 2016, Dew sexually assaulted a family member when she was 5 years old.  During the course of the investigation into the assault, it became known to law enforcement that Dew had also sexually assaulted another family member from 2000 to 2002. 

Dew faces a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison.  Sentencing is scheduled for June 29, 2018, in Department 11 before the Honorable Trena Burger-Plavan.
