Former Subway Employee Gets Life for Sexual Assault

DATE:  September 11, 2015

CASE:  Kenneth Anderson

PROSECUTOR:   Deputy District Attorney Laura West, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit

The Honorable Maryanne Gilliard sentenced 24-year-old Kenneth Anderson to 125 years to life, plus 3 years in prison.  On August 14, 2015, a jury convicted Anderson of five counts of forcible sexual penetration by a foreign object, and one count of unlawfully attempting to dissuade the victim from reporting the crime to law enforcement.  The jury also found true special allegations that Anderson bound and personally inflicted great bodily injury on the victim during the commission of the sexual assault.

On March 25, 2014, Anderson entered a Subway restaurant approximately one hour before the victim was scheduled to open the business.  He reset the alarm so the victim would not know he was inside when she arrived at approximately 6:30 a.m.   Anderson struck the victim in the head, duct taped her mouth, and covered her face with a shirt.  He then proceeded to sexually assault the victim.

This case was investigated by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
