Case of Interest: Albert “Christopher” Sanchez

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Laura Froome, Domestic Violence Unit - High Risk Offenders

District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced today that Albert “Christopher” Sanchez was convicted by jury of attempted murder.  The jury also found true that he personally used a deadly weapon in the commission of the crime and that he inflicted great bodily injury on the victim. 

Additionally, the jury convicted him of an assault upon his spouse causing a traumatic condition and found he personally used a deadly weapon and inflicted great bodily injury. 

On December 23, 2013, Sanchez became angry with his wife.  He approached her in their bedroom and stabbed her multiple times.  She suffered multiple stab wounds, including one which resulted in a severed artery in her arm. 

Sanchez faces a maximum potential sentence of 15 years state prison.  Sentencing is set for April 17, 2015 at 9:00 am in Department 17 before the Honorable Ernest Sawtelle.
