Case of Interest: Christopher Langlois & Jeffrey Powell

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Jeff Hightower, Homicide Unit

District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced today that Christopher Langlois and Jeffrey Powell were convicted by jury of second-degree murder.

On January 5, 2013, the defendants and two accomplices kicked in the door of Jack Swaim’s Citrus Heights home at around 6:30 a.m. and brutally attacked him.  Mr. Swaim died as a result of a stab wound to his chest.  The intended target of their attack was Mr. Swaim’s son, who had been in an earlier altercation with one of the accomplices.

The defendants and one accomplice, who pled guilty and testified against the defendants, are scheduled to be sentenced on March 27, 2015 by the Honorable Michael Sweet.
