Defendant Sentenced to 35 Yrs. to Life for Murder of Midtown Woman

DATE:  October 27, 2015

CASE:  Mohammad Khan

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Caroline Park, Homicide Unit

The Honorable Kevin McCormick sentenced 35-year-old Mohammad Khan to 35 years to life in prison after he pled guilty to second-degree murder and admitted to a use of a firearm allegation.

On June 28, 2014, Khan met Kelsey Snyder and her friends at the Dive Bar.  The friends described the interaction between the two that night as tense, and the two had a verbal argument.

After Khan went back to Ms. Snyder’s apartment with her, her friends were unable to get a hold of her.  A friend ultimately found Ms. Snyder shot to death in her bed with multiple gunshot wounds.  Khan fled to Mexico during a vehicle pursuit, but ended up turning himself in to authorities.  Khan was found to have had a 9 mm registered to him.
