The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office consists of a number of bureaus, divisions, special units and programs.

District Attorney Jan Scully is assisted in administering the District Attorney's Office by Chief Deputy District Attorney Cindy Besemer and Assistant District Attorney Albert Locher and Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorneys John O'Mara, Steve Grippi, Jeff Rose, Karen Maxwell, Marv Stern and Lori Greene.

The chief administrative heads are Chief Investigator Jeff Schiele, Laboratory Director Robert Jarzen, Chief Administrator Sue Elliott, and Chief of Information Technology Bassam Amrou. These positions are supported by an administrative staff that provides financial, personnel and operational support.


Intake & Filing

In addition to prosecution units, the office has a Consolidated Intake Division (CID). CID is responsible for reviewing law enforcement reports of criminal conduct and determining whether or not there is sufficient evidence to file felony or misdemeanor charges and convict the accused of the crimes which are the subject of the reports.
